
Fay Fullerton studied fashion design and period costume at the London College of Fashion. On graduating, she took up a costumier position at the Royal Opera House and was promoted to head of production costume in 1999. She has also had a successful freelance costumier career, making costumes for many West End shows, including The Lion King, Dirty Dancing, The Lord of the Rings, The Phantom of the Opera and Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical. In 2007, she was awarded the Kulture2Couture Trailblazer Award, an initiative of the Mayor of London to showcase and promote black British designers in the fashion industry. In 2008, she was awarded an Honorary Fellowship for Contribution to Arts and Theatre by Exeter University Drama Department.
